About Us

Willespie is one of Margaret River’s original family-owned wineries, producing estate-grown wines since 1976. The business is entering an exciting new growth phase, with expanding cellar door operations, the introduction of new kitchen and dining offerings, and the development of premium accommodation and function facilities on our iconic Wilyabrup property.

We are seeking a highly capable Venue Manager to partner directly with the Director and lead the day-to-day management of our diversified operations — including sales, hospitality, finance, and property development.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Director, the Business Manager will take a hands-on leadership role across all business operations, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and project delivery.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Financial Management & Reporting – Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting across all entities.

Cellar Door Operations – Drive sales, service standards, and visitor experience; manage staffing and performance.

Kitchen Operations – Lead the implementation and ongoing management of our new food offering, including compliance, profitability, and quality control.

Business Systems Development – Establish and maintain robust management systems, policies, and operational frameworks to support sustainable growth.

Project Management – Oversee the planning and delivery of key capital projects including chalet accommodation and a corporate function venue.

Vineyard Operations – Support vineyard planning, production oversight, and coordination between viticulture, winemaking, and marketing teams.

OHS & Compliance Governance – Ensure all business units meet relevant safety, licensing, and compliance standards; promote a proactive health and safety culture across all operations.

Marketing Support - Work with the external marketing consultant to support promotional campaigns and deliver successful events.

About You

You’re an experienced business or operations manager who thrives in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. You’re commercially astute, detail-oriented, and equally comfortable on the floor, in the vineyard, or in front of a financial dashboard.

You will bring:

Strong leadership and team management skills

Proven financial and operational management experience

Experience in the wine industry essential

Experience in tourism or property development viewed favourable

Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills

A proactive, hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement

A Few Things You’ll Need to Have

Current Approved Manager’s Licence (or ability to obtain)

Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar leadership or management role

Demonstrated experience managing OHS and compliance systems across diverse business operations

Solid understanding of hospitality, vineyard, or agritourism operations
