We’re seeking a hands-on Inventory & Parts Officer with strong organisational skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn new systems and processes. This role is vital to keeping our workshop running efficiently and our fleet on the road.
About the Role
This is a physically active position ideal for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys hands-on work combined with administrative responsibilities. You’ll manage stock, negotiate with suppliers, maintain accurate records, and ensure the right parts are available when needed.
No two days are the same — it’s a mixed and varied role suited to someone who’s quick to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain stock levels using cloud based operating systems, preventing shortages or overstocking.
Implement and manage a fuel data system to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Conduct regular stock audits, including the annual 30 June stocktake, and liaise with finance.
Negotiate supplier pricing and oversee purchase orders, invoicing, and stock control.
Maintain fuel/AdBlue records, reconcile variations, and ensure timely replenishment.
Coordinate vehicle bookings, registrations, and participate in the WHS committee.
Ensure the workshop is clean, organised, and operating efficiently.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Physically handle inventory, including wheels and tyres.
Occasionally assist with vehicle driving duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
Strong admin skills – confident with inventory management and IT systems.
Attention to detail – ensures accurate records and stock control.
Mechanical aptitude – ideal for a former mechanic wanting a change.
Physically capable – ability to handle stock, parts, and workshop tasks.
Ability to work independently – self-motivated and organised.
Licence essential (MR+ preferred) – driving duties may be required.
WWC preferred but not essential.
Forklift licence preferable or willingness to obtain.
