About the role
Oh Boy, Bok Choy! is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie with particular skills in South East Asian food and wok cooking. (Can be Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese or Asian Fusion experience) to join our dynamic team in Stafford, Brisbane. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and execution of our diverse menu offerings, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency in our kitchen.
What you'll be doing
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to our exacting standards
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in the kitchen
Effectively manage your section of the kitchen, delegating tasks and supervising junior team members
Contribute to the development and refinement of our menu, suggesting new and innovative dishes
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work environment
Provide exceptional customer service and liaise with front-of-house team as well as the owners.
What we're looking for
Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Chef de Partie in an Asian Restaurant or equivalent role in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment
Formal culinary qualification or training, with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines
The capacity to work well under pressure in a relatively open kitchen
Keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality dishes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team
Passion for food and a desire to continuously learn and improve your craft
What we offer
At Oh Boy, Bok Choy, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive workplace in our family owned and operated business. We only open evenings Monday to Thursday, and days and evenings Friday through Saturdays. NO SPLIT SHIFTS, FREE PARKING 24 HOURS A DAY, TEAM SHOWERS AND TOILETS and LOCKERS. No very late nights or early mornings. Long term prospects with our small company as we grow, with a third venue opening in April/May 2026, with operators with over 30 years industry experience.
