About Wounded Heroes Australia
Wounded Heroes Australia is a national charity providing 24/7 crisis support, emergency accommodation, and financial assistance to serving and ex-serving Australian Defence Force personnel and their families experiencing hardship.
We are expanding our capacity to deliver vital frontline services and are seeking a qualified and experienced Bookkeeper & Administrator/Office Manager to join our passionate team at our Ipswich Head Office.
About the Role
This dual role offers variety and purpose — combining day-to-day bookkeeping and financial management with office management & general administrative support to ensure smooth organisational operations.
You’ll work closely with management, program coordinators, and our external accountant to maintain financial accuracy, streamline processes, and support the ongoing growth of our national programs.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management:
Manage accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Process payroll, superannuation, PAYG, and BAS lodgements.
Maintain and refine the Chart of Accounts in line with reporting needs.
Prepare financial reports, budgets, and grant acquittals.
Liaise with accountants, auditors, and funding bodies.
Office Management & Administration:
Oversee day-to-day office operations and ensure an organised, efficient workplace.
Manage supplier relationships, invoicing, and procurement.
Provide administrative support to the CEO and management team.
Maintain records, filing systems, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate communications, meetings, and office logistics.
Assist with project documentation, fundraising events, and internal reporting.
Skills & Experience
Certificate IV or higher in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Business Administration (essential).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping and/or administrative roles.
Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
Experience in the not-for-profit or charity sector (highly regarded).
