Yuwi Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is currently seeking a motivated and culturally grounded Office Administrator to join our team in Mackay. Yuwi Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) for the Yuwi People, the recognised Traditional Custodians of the Mackay region.

About the Role

The Yuwi administration role provides essential organisational and operational support to ensure smooth delivery of programs, events, and community initiatives. It involves managing daily office tasks, record-keeping, correspondence, and scheduling, while also supporting compliance, reporting, and funding requirements.

Key functions include:

General administration: emails, phone calls, filing, data entry, document preparation.

Financial support: assisting with invoices, purchase orders, acquittals, and grant reporting (with guidance from finance staff/accountant).

Event and program support: coordinating logistics, bookings, catering, travel, and communications for Yuwi cultural programs and activities.

Governance support: preparing and maintaining accurate organisational records.

Community engagement support: assisting in communication between Yuwi, partners, and community members.

General Responsibilities

Support the leadership team, employees, directors, members, external stakeholders, and service providers with efficient communication.

Oversee all office operations and administrative functions.

Manage correspondence, scheduling, meeting logistics, and reporting.

Maintain filing systems and organisational records.

Assist with general bookkeeping, invoicing, timesheets, and employment records.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, community-focused environment and is open to building their skills through training and support.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

Strong organisational and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong comprehension and mathematical skills

The ability to work independently and within a team

High level of computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office suite

Experience with Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting software

Essential Requirements

Legal right to work in Australia

Current driver’s licence

National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months)

A high level of cultural awareness and demonstrated respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
