Saleyards Supervisor

Tenure: Full time / Temporary (12 months)

Location: Echuca

Remuneration: $94,344.33 to $102,835.20 + superannuation & leave loading

Campapse Shire is seeking a Saleyards Supervisor, who will ensure the effective operations of Councils Echuca and District Livestock Exchange. The Saleyard Supervisor will lead day-to-day operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and strong stakeholder relationships. The role involves managing staff and contractors, coordinating livestock sales and logistics, overseeing infrastructure, and maintaining compliance with legislative and industry standards.

To be successful for this role you will require:

• Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Business Management, or a related field or equivalent experience in livestock exchange or agricultural operations.
• Experience with livestock traceability systems, such as the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) and National Saleyards Quality Assurance (NSQA).
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing WHS systems in high-risk environments.
• Experience in financial management and budgeting, including preparation, monitoring, and reporting of operational budget.
• Demonstrated capability in capital works planning and delivery, including scoping, budgeting, and project sponsorship aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
• Familiarity with asset management systems and principles, including lifecycle planning, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Q Fever Vaccine (or willingness to obtain)
• Victorian Working with Children Check and Valid National Police Check.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
