Overview:
The role will provide support to the Head of Compliance and Compliance Managers to assist across its legal, regulatory and internal policy obligations through the implementation of the Compliance Management Policy. Focusing on privacy related matters.
Responsibilities:
Be actively involved in partnering with the business as the second line of defence, advising and enabling the business to identify, assess and manage compliance matters and incidents by:
- Supporting the Head of Compliance and the Compliance team by managing a case load of privacy related matters to ensure the dept. meets its obligations.
- Undertake research to identify the laws, regulations, external requirements and internal policies.
- Act as an information source to the business to anticipate regulatory requirements / support accurate interpretation& application.
- Provide advice and guidance on eligible data breaches, regulatory notifications and engagement.
- Assess and evaluate policies and procedures to support compliance objectives and recommend improvements.
- Assist with compliance risk assessments to determine the highest to lowest rated compliance risks.
- Conduct monitoring, assurance and testing of the control environment and prepare reports for internal Compliance teams
- Assist with investigations of reportable privacy breaches and incidents including assessment of impact of breach & root cause analysis, providing advice.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of enterprise compliance training.
- Foster & influence a strong compliance culture. Collaborating with management, staff and risk coordinators. In addition to engaging with internal and external stakeholders, building relationships to ensure effective engagement.
To be successful, you will need:
· A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or equivalent experience
· Deep subject matter expertise and experience in privacy.
· Experience in compliance and/or risk frameworks.
· Experience as compliance practitioner, ideally in the insurance or government sector.
· A range of experience in analysing and reporting on compliance management strategies.
