Quality, Compliance & Policy Officer (Part-Time, Fixed-Term)

Our client is the Northern Sydney region's largest independent, not-for-profit, community-led organisation. We're dedicated to empowering people and communities through services that include information, advice and guidance, assessment and review, care coordination, and community capacity building.
About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality, Compliance & Policy Officer to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis (1 day per week - every Wednesday).
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our policies, procedures, and practices align with current legislation, best practice standards, and our commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
What You'll Do
- Develop, review, and update policies, procedures, and templates to ensure legal compliance and alignment with best practice across the Aged Care, Disability, and Mental Health sectors.
- Research relevant legislation and industry standards (including Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and National Standards for Mental Health Services).
- Maintain the Register of Customer Compliments, Incidents, and Complaints, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits in line with the Internal Audit Calendar, recommending and tracking corrective actions.
- Support the Manager, Quality & Risk with compliance projects, reporting, and external audit preparation.
- Promote continuous improvement, risk management, and a strong culture of quality across the organisation.
About You
You're an analytical thinker with a sound understanding of quality, compliance, and governance in community, aged care, or disability services. You enjoy translating complex standards into practical, easy-to-follow processes and are passionate about driving positive outcomes for people and communities.
What You'll Bring - Tertiary qualifications in law, policy, auditing, health, human or social services, or a related field.
- Experience in quality, compliance, or policy development within the aged care, disability, or mental health sectors.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and best practice guidelines.
- Excellent written communication and document management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with customer management databases.
- High attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently.
