Asset Recovery Officer – Auto Finance | Gold Coast, QLD

We’re a national auto lender based on the Gold Coast, and we’re looking for an Asset Recovery Officer to administer our asset recovery and disposal operations. If you’re sharp, driven, competent, and a great communicator, this is your chance to step into a key role to make a real impact.

This role reports directly to the Head of Operations.

About the Role

As the Asset Recovery Officer, you will coordinate all vehicle recovery and disposal activity across our portfolio. Working closely with our collections, legal, and compliance teams, you’ll engage with external agents, ensure legislative compliance, and protect the business’s asset position with professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end asset recovery and disposal process

Update and maintain asset register and loan management system

Enter asset recovery orders into third party systems

Manage relationships with third-party agents, transporters, and auction partners

Ensure all recovery actions comply with relevant credit and repossession laws

Evaluate accounts for recovery suitability and recommend action

Monitor and improve performance and cost-efficiency of recovery partners

Address escalated customer issues with empathy and assertiveness

Report on asset recovery financial performance to Head of Operations

About You

Proven experience in repossession, asset recovery, or collections (ideally in auto finance)

Sound knowledge of Australian credit and repossession laws

Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills

Experience managing external vendors and internal workflows

High attention to detail and good judgement under pressure

Comfortable working with CRMs and asset management systems

Capable of managing the asset recovery function as a profitable business unit
