People and Operations Manager

Full-time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm | Canberra-based

About Us
Seimosei Disability Services is a family-run NDIS provider with a small but mighty team that takes pride in doing things with heart. We’re known for our high-quality standards, genuine relationships, and a “Smile That Cares” approach. Every decision we make is about supporting people — our participants, their families, and our team.

We provide essential support to people with disabilities, and this role plays a crucial part in ensuring our participants and employees receive reliable, compliant, person-centred care every day. This position helps keep our services running smoothly and ensures participants and staff always feel supported, safe, and valued.

About the Role
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and knows how to get things done.
The People and Operations Manager coordinates the day-to-day running of our supports — ensuring smooth operations, identifies and implements continuous improvement, effective communication, compliance, and positive outcomes for both participants and staff.

You’ll work closely with the General Manager and the wider team to oversee daily and long-term operations. You’ll be supported 100%, but you’ll also need to bring initiative, decisiveness, time management, and great follow-through.
Strong knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Standards and Fair Work obligations relating to employee management and compliance will be highly regarded but not essential.

You’ll have the opportunity to grow your operational and people management skills with full guidance from our leadership team.

Teamwork is essential. You’ll be working closely with our small in-office team consisting of the People & Operations Coordinator, Talent Manager, and Finance & Payroll Coordinator. Collaboration, communication, and a positive team attitude are key to thriving in this role.

If you’re ready to step up from a senior operations or people role into management — we’ll back you. For the right person who fits our culture and shares our values, we’re open to supporting your development into the role.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day operational activities (daily operations, rostering, employee and participant management, workforce planning, continuous improvement, and quality assurance).

Manage the People & Operations Coordinator and frontline workforce.

Build strong, respectful relationships with participants, staff, and stakeholders.

Ensure compliance, quality, and consistency across all operations.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Prepare clear, professional reports, case summaries, and operational documentation.

Apply strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to find balanced, practical solutions for all parties involved.

Participate in on-call phone coverage every 3 weeks on weekends and some weeknights (allowance payable).

Minimal activity expected.

This requirement will be phased out in the coming months but may occasionally be required thereafter.

About You

You’re caring, approachable, and an excellent communicator.

You’re organised, calm under pressure, and confident making decisions.

You balance empathy with professionalism and accountability.

You thrive in a small team and value collaboration, continuous improvement and mutual support.

You bring strong time management skills, can multi-task, and remain adaptable and flexible as priorities change throughout the day.

You’re skilled in report writing — competent, clear, and confident in documentation and written communication.

You bring sound problem-solving skills and can mediate or resolve issues constructively for staff, participants, and stakeholders.

Management or NDIS experience is highly preferred — but if you’re ready to step up, we want to hear from you.

Understanding of Fair Work legislation, employee obligations, and NDIS compliance requirements is highly desirable.

Most importantly — culture and personality fit matter most. We’re looking for someone who aligns with our values, enjoys working closely with others, and truly cares about people.

Why Join Us

You’ll join a workplace that values honesty, humour, teamwork, and balance. We work hard, support each other, and celebrate wins big and small.
