Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience at CDP or Sous Chef level.

Sous Chef – Café Bakery

We're looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our growing café bakery team. If you love creating fresh, seasonal dishes, working with quality ingredients, and being part of a supportive, creative kitchen — we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver a consistently high standard of food for our breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus. You'll also assist with prep, service, ordering, and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment that celebrates great produce, artisan baking, and friendly hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations

• Prepare and present dishes to a high standard

• Oversee food prep, storage, and rotation

• Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance

• Assist with menu development and specials

• Train and lead kitchen staff as required

• Help manage ordering and stock control

About You

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie

• Passion for café and bakery-style cuisine

• Strong attention to detail and presentation

• Excellent communication and teamwork

• Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure

• Knowledge of food safety standards (Food Safety Cert preferred)

• Food Safety Certification must be obtained before starting employment

• Australian work rights are essential for this position
