CRO/Digital Advertising Specialist

Marketing agency seeking experienced performance marketer to manage client ad campaigns. Flexible hours, results-focused, room for significant growth.

Position Overview

Hybrid position: mostly remote with one optional in-office day per week (5 hours).

Manage Google Ads and Meta Ads for a portion of agency clients with combined monthly ad spend of $15k-30k (slated to grow). You'll own campaign strategy, optimization, and performance - complete control within client budgets to drive measurable results.

Current focus: Google Ads, Meta Ads, and landing page optimization. Future scope includes LinkedIn Ads, additional platforms, and expanded physical advertising coordination as business grows.

Responsibilities:

Campaign Management:

Full ownership of Google Ads and Meta Ads accounts for assigned clients

Campaign strategy, setup, optimization, and ongoing management

Budget allocation and bid management across campaigns

A/B testing for ad creative, copy, audiences, and placements

Daily (or every-other-day minimum) campaign monitoring for technical issues - broken links, incorrect dates, budget overspends, URL functionality

Set up alerts for major issues given significant budget size

Make data-driven optimization decisions and pivot strategy when needed

Control ad scheduling and budget pacing

Conversion Optimization:

Analyze landing page performance and identify optimization opportunities

Direct landing page changes (visual elements, copy, layout) to improve conversion rates

Communicate tracking and implementation requirements for GTM/GA4 setup

Coordinate with development team on technical implementation

Creative & Strategy:

Create basic ad creative using Canva or choice of software when needed

Work with existing client content and assets

Request specific content from team when needed for campaign performance

Write ad copy and develop creative briefs

Advise clients on realistic budget requirements and expected outcomes

Most clients are established brands with plenty of quality images and videos to work with

CRM & Sales Integration:

Advise on CRM strategy for campaign optimization (audience segmentation, email list strategy, lead attribution)

Collaborate with O&C Specialist on lead tracking and campaign attribution

Recommend CRM integrations to improve campaign performance (implementation handled by development team)

Reporting & Communication:

Bi-weekly campaign performance reporting

Create monthly client performance reports; option to present directly to clients or coordinate with team based on your preference

Track ROI and provide actionable insights

Direct client communication on campaign strategy and results as needed

Physical Advertising:

Coordinate billboards, local sponsorships, and other offline campaigns when needed

In-Office Work (1 day/week optional, 5-hour day, flexible schedule):

Team coordination and strategy sessions

Client meetings if needed

Deep-dive campaign analysis

Ads run 24/7, so brief weekend check-ins expected to monitor performance and catch issues.

Compensation

$44-54/hour based on experience

16-24 hours/week flexible (typically 5-hour workdays spread across week)

Total weekly: ~$704-1,296 depending on hours and rate

Performance bonus based on client campaign results and business growth

Growth & Scope: Extensive room for growth as business expands. Can transition to full-time hours, take on all agency clients, increased scope, and higher compensation. Path to leadership position managing advertising function. If you excel and the role grows, we review compensation every 6 months. We won't pile on extra work without adjusting pay.

Trial period: 2 months, fully paid (1 week notice either side), then 2 weeks notice after trial

Requirements

Must Have:

Proven results managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns

Experience managing $10k+ monthly ad spend (provide examples)

Demonstrable ROI improvements - must show case studies or metrics (ROAS, CPA, conversion rates, etc.)

Strong understanding of conversion tracking, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager

A/B testing experience and data analysis skills

Ability to assess campaign performance, make judgment calls, and pivot strategy when needed

Can attend Cranbourne West office periodically during onboarding and as needed

Available for daily or every-other-day monitoring minimum (large budgets require vigilance)

Available for brief weekend monitoring (ads don't stop on weekends)

Preferred:

Google Ads and Meta Blueprint certifications (results matter more than certifications)

Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously

Agency or freelance background

Landing page optimization experience

CRM and email marketing strategy experience

Critical:

Results-driven - you're measured on performance, not hours logged

Strategic thinker who can also execute tactically

Clear communicator - can explain complex campaign data to clients

Self-directed - takes initiative, doesn't need hand-holding

Comfortable with complete campaign ownership and accountability

Detail-oriented - catches technical issues before they become costly mistakes

Independent contractor (you manage own tax/super; ABN not required immediately)

Location: Hybrid - 1 optional day/week at newly built Cranbourne West office; remote for campaign work

Equipment: Laptop and work phone provided (your choice of OS for both)

All software/tools provided (ad platforms, analytics, design tools, reporting) + can accommodate additional preferred ones

Complete access to client ad accounts with full management control

Trial includes more frequent check-ins to align on strategy; becomes flexible based on performance

Regular performance reporting required
