Under the strategic direction of an ambitious and forward-thinking CFO, the company is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to support their continued growth. The Opportunity:
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering financial insight and driving performance across the business. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, providing commercial support and guidance while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This is a hands-on role offering exposure across business partnering, reporting, analysis, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic advice on the tax implications of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital expenditures, and other major initiatives.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors to maximise available tax credits, deductions, and other optimisation opportunities.
• Lead tax planning and compliance activities, developing effective strategies to optimise the group’s tax position while ensuring adherence to all tax laws and regulations.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with financial, tax, and industry-specific regulations, including QBCC regulations, PQC compliance, and other legislative obligations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including detailed variance analysis, commentary, and forecasting insights.
• Monitor and report on banking covenants, ensuring compliance and accurate, timely reporting to financial institutions.
• Provide clear, data-driven financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision making.
• Review and enhance internal financial controls and processes to improve efficiency, strengthen compliance, and mitigate risk.

About You
You’re a proactive, motivated finance professional who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You have a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insights that guide decision-making.

Your Background:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• Construction experience advantageous
• Big4 Audit background highly regarded
• CPA or CA qualified
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to influence and support at all levels.
