About the role
We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team for a 12 month contracted period. In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end payroll across a diverse workforce including EBA, Award, and Award-free staff.
Using the Employment Hero Payroll system, you’ll ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing, support system improvements, and play a key role in a payroll migration project. Your solid knowledge of NSW payroll regulations, rostering nuances, and Fair Work compliance will be critical to success.
Key Responsibilities
Fortnightly end-to-end payroll processing
Interpret and apply EBAs, Modern Awards, and the NES
Maintain compliance with PAYG, STP, super, and Fair Work obligations
Manage payroll data and inputs from time and attendance systems
Support payroll system migration and improvements
Support the remuneration and benefit strategy and projects
Support the team on customer service and cash management requests
Provide clear, timely support to employees and stakeholders
Prepare payroll reports and reconcile accounts
Support our People & Culture function by maintaining employee records and participating in value-add projects.
Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in payroll, ideally in a mixed industrial environment
Hands-on experience with Employment Hero Payroll
Micropay to Employment Hero migration experience highly regarded
Involvement or ownership of payroll migration project
Knowledge of NSW-specific payroll legislation and entitlements
Strong compliance focus and attention to detail
Confidence with Excel and payroll reporting
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
