Luxcom’s Construction Internship Program offers hands-on experience within real construction sites and project offices in Australia. The program is designed in partnership with Training Institute Australasia (TIAWA) and aligns with the CPC40120 and CPC40320 Certificate IV qualifications, providing structured training and workplace competency development. Interns will gain exposure to the full construction lifecycle—from planning and estimation to supervision, scheduling, and contract administration—while working alongside experienced site managers, estimators, and project engineers.
Qualifications & Experience required:
1. Current student or recent graduate in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
2. Basic understanding of construction drawings and safety practices.
3. English communication proficiency (IELTS 5.5+ or equivalent).
4. Commitment to a full-time work schedule in Australia for the program duration.
5. Must meet eligibility requirements for Australian work placement (e.g., 482 visa sponsorship pathway).
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Assist in daily site supervision, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
2. Support site managers and supervisors in coordinating trades, materials, and resources.
3. Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and codes of practice.
4. Participate in estimating labour, materials, and costs for small to medium-scale projects.
5. Prepare and process documentation including tender submissions, purchase orders, and contracts.
6. Assist in project scheduling, progress tracking, and work allocation.
7. Support project teams in risk, quality, and environmental management processes.
8. Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
9. Maintain daily records, reports, and site communication logs.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, interns will have gained:
- Practical site supervision and building project support experience.
- Competency aligned with Certificate IV standards (CPC40120 or CPC40320).
- Strong understanding of Australian building codes, safety legislation, and contract management.
- Skills in estimation, project scheduling, and construction documentation.
