The Opportunity

This is a 6 –12-month contract position with the potential to become permanent, as the role is currently vacant. External budget experience within a Federal Government agency will be highly regarded.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of external budgets within CBMS
• Developing and maintaining supporting worksheets for external budgets at each milestone
• Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to support the external budget model
• Assisting in the preparation of Senate Estimate packs for senior stakeholders
• Supporting managers in managing internal budgets, including tracking expenditure and reporting variances
• Assisting policy development for cost recovery of regulatory services

The Ideal Person

You are an experienced APS6 External Budget Specialist or Management Accountant with Federal Government experience and a sound understanding of Commonwealth budget processes and the Resource Management Framework.

Key skills and attributes include:

• Proficiency in Excel and strong written communication skills
• Knowledge of APS external budget estimate processes
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment

Salary / Rate

• $99k - $111k + 15.4% Super
