The Opportunity
In this opportunity, you’ll partner with stakeholders and the Project Management Office to manage the financials of the agency’s ICT projects. The role covers reviewing monthly expenses, assessing project proposals, and delivering project reporting, forecasting and budgeting. You’ll report to an EL1 and work closely with an experienced EL2.

The Role
This role offers a blend of project accounting, financial management, and strategy, allowing you to shape impactful outcomes in a dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing insightful financial reporting to the CFO, Executive and Minister that identifies pressures, risks and opportunities and supports decision making
- Undertaking analysis and evaluation of trends, cost drivers and identification of budget issues in support of high level analysis
- Developing, monitoring, analysing and advising on budgets, forecasts and financial results while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Management of the agencies' Shared Services arrangement, including liaising with service providers, managing the invoicing and contractual agreements
- Supporting the Agency’s Internal Budget process; and
- Processing month-end adjustments, ensuring they are accurate and reliable
The Ideal Person
To be successful in this role, you’ll have experience developing, monitoring, analysing and advising on internal budgets, as well as managing budgeting cycles, forecasts and financial reporting, with strong communication skills.
A background in project accounting is preferred, and exposure to systems accounting or ICT project accounting will be highly regarded. An existing security clearance is not required. Candidates from the private sector with the right background are encouraged to apply.
This role requires Australian citizenship.
Salary / Rate
- $97k - $110k + Super
- 12-month non-ongoing with the opportunity to become permanent
- WFH flexibility
