Step into the heart of Australian sport with a national organisation leading one of the country’s most inspiring brands. This contract Finance Manager role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful work at a pivotal time — shaping the next 48-month financial plan for one of Australia’s most recognisable sporting codes.

The Opportunity
Working closely with the CFO, this role will take the lead on the 48-month budget model, developing a clear, data-driven financial roadmap that supports elite teams, community programs, and commercial growth.
You’ll also play a key role in year-end preparation, audit support, and Board-level reporting — bringing together the numbers that drive the game forward.

Key deliverables include:

• Developing the 48-month budget model based on the match calendar and revenue assumptions
• Building scenario models (e.g. qualification / non-qualification)
• Preparing the FY25 annual financial reports and audit workpapers
• Delivering Budget Owner Packs and Board reports
• Partnering with senior leaders to align targets and financial outcomes

About You
You’re a hands-on finance professional with strong modelling and budgeting experience, ideally within complex, multi-funded or project-based environments.
You bring:

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
• Experience building multi-year plans and scenario models
• Knowledge of accounting standards, audit processes, and financial governance
• Exceptional communication skills for Board-level reporting
• Experience with SAP or planning systems (highly regarded)

A background in sport, major events, or not-for-profit sectors will be highly valued, but not essential.
