About the Role
IHCSA is seeking an experienced and compassionate physiotherapist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting clients in the community. This diverse and rewarding role focuses on delivering high quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services to aged care clients in their homes. You will play a vital part in improving client's function, independence and overall wellbeing through tailored assessments, interventions and care plans.
As a physiotherapist with IHCSA, you will work within a person centred, holistic care model. Your responsibilities will include conducting clinical assessments, designing and delivering strength-based programs, prescribing aids and mobility equipment and educating clients and their carers. You will also collaborate closely with our broader allied health and clinical teams to support best practice care and positive client outcomes.
To be successful you will need:
Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a community or aged care setting with a demonstrated ability to work independently in clients' homes.
Proficiency in evidence-based assessment and treatment planning, including functional assessments, mobility evaluations, and restorative care planning.
Demonstrated experience in falls prevention, mobility and balance retraining, and prescription of mobility aids and assistive equipment.
In-depth knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, Home Care Packages (HCP), and Support at Home frameworks
Ability to develop and deliver strength-based, client-centred physiotherapy programs, tailored to complex needs including cognitive decline, chronic conditions, and frailty
High-level documentation and clinical reporting skills, including accurate and timely maintenance of client records in line with privacy and compliance standards
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to educate and support clients, families, and care teams on therapy goals, equipment use, and home exercise programs
Proficient in using clinical reasoning and risk assessment to prioritise caseloads and modify treatment plans based on changing client needs
Sound understanding of cultural safety principles and demonstrated experience working respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
Essential Criteria
Evidence of a valid National Police Check (NPC)
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or higher)
Current General Registration with AHPRA
Current and valid class C drivers' licence
