Dietitian – Maternity Leave Cover (Part-Time)

AvantiCare is seeking a skilled and adaptable Accredited Practising Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary team in a maternity leave cover position. This is a part-time role, suited to a clinician who enjoys variety, autonomy, and meaningful work supporting older adults and community clients.

About the Role

This dynamic role covers a broad scope of dietetic practice and includes:

Residential Aged Care – Nutrition assessments, care plans, and liaison with care staff.

Community Home Visits – Providing personalised nutrition support in client homes.

Menu Reviews – Supporting evaluation of aged care menus to ensure compliance with nutrition standards (training provided).

Admin & Coordination – Maintaining records, responding to coordinator queries, and arranging supplement samples.

Team Collaboration – Working alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive, inclusive environment

Note: This is a temporary role to cover maternity leave, with a primary focus on clinical service delivery. Strategic service development and business growth tasks may be outside the scope of this contract.

What You'll Need

Tertiary qualification in Dietetics and APD status with Dietitians Australia.

Current driver's licence and reliable car.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Confidence working independently across varied care settings.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

Minimum 1-2 years of dietetic experience is required.

Desirable

Experience in residential aged care, menu review, or community-based nutrition care.

Familiarity with the Aged Care Quality Standards and the Support at Home framework.
