Community-based aged care organisation | Leadership role | Adelaide

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for aged care and community services? We are seeking a dynamic Project Officer to manage the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and oversee the daily operations of the organisation. The successful person will lead the strategic initiatives of our organisation during a time of unprecedent change in the Aged Care Sector ensuring high-quality services are delivered for older people in our community.

CO.AS.IT. (SA) is a small not-for-profit organisation supporting the wellbeing of older Italian -Australians through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). We offer well established social support group services in the metropolitan area, connecting directly with the Italian community.

About the Role

Reporting to the President of the Board, the Project Officer will:

· Lead daily operations and ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory requirements.

· Manage and support staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.

· Deliver new aged care and community projects, ensuring they meet client needs and funding obligations.

· Oversee CHSP grants including DEX monthly reporting and financial reports.

· Apply for funding and grant submissions as they become available.

· Provide strategic advice to the Board on sector reforms, risk management and organisational performance.

· Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, service providers, and clients.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

· Experience in the aged care sector, with a strong understanding of aged care reforms particularly CHSP.

· Demonstrated skills in operational leadership, project management and compliance reporting.

· Experience in financial management, including budgeting, acquittals and grant applications.

· Proven ability to work with and manage volunteers in a community setting.

· High-level communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

· Confidence in using IT systems including aged care reporting portals (My Aged Care, DEX, SharePoint, MS Office).

· Integrity, accountability and the ability to work autonomously under limited supervision and direction.

Highly desirable:

· Conversational Italian or experience working with Italo-Australian or multicultural communities.

· Experience in events management including fundraising and community engagement initiatives.
