We are on the search for a talented Property Specialist (Leasing) to strategically manage and grow the leased portion of the City’s property portfolio, from bustling community facilities to commercial spaces and Crown land.
This is your opportunity to combine technical leasing expertise with strategic property insight, influencing how our land assets are managed to achieve strong community and commercial outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Property Services, you’ll play a key role in managing the City’s leasing portfolio and supporting implementation of our Strategic Land and Leasing Policies.
You will lead the negotiation, preparation, and administration of lease agreements while ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and delivering exceptional service to stakeholders.
You will also:
• Provide strategic property advice and due diligence for leased sites.
• Lead and guide team members in lease interpretation, negotiation, and management.
• Administer leasing processes for commercial and community facilities, including expressions of interest and statutory advertising.
• Build strong relationships with tenants, government agencies, and consultants (valuers, surveyors, lawyers, planners).
• Review and enhance systems, processes, and policies for efficient portfolio management.

About You
You are an experienced property professional who thrives on complexity and enjoys seeing your work make a tangible difference. You’re confident in negotiations, have a sharp eye for detail, and know how to balance commercial outcomes with community benefit.
You will bring:
• A tertiary qualification in Law, Property & Asset Management, Valuation, or similar, or extensive relevant experience.
• Proven experience in property portfolio or leasing management, ideally within government or large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of the Land Administration Act, Local Government Act, and Commercial Tenancy (Retail Shops) Agreements Act.
• Advanced negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• A Driver’s Licence and excellent organisational skills.
