Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate AOD related challenges and move forward in life.
A new Ipswich Residential AOD Treatment Facility is opening, which will deliver high-quality, specialist residential AOD treatment services for adults aged 18 years and over. The centre will provide a total of 46 beds, comprising 36 beds for residential rehabilitation and 10 beds for withdrawal management and care. This facility is aimed at promoting lasting change and we are looking for a full-time Cook/Kitchenhand to join us.
Your Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Cook/Kitchenhand to play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents by preparing nutritious, home-style meals in a welcoming and recovery-focused environment.
Working Monday to Friday we offer some flexibility around start and finish times, but you will need to be available to create meal plans, cook lunches, and prepare the evening meals. Salary for this position is $76,000k - $81,000k plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging to increase your take-home pay.
What we are looking for
You will have a hospitality or catering background and ideally bring experience or knowledge of working within a large commercial kitchen. You will also offer the following skills to support your experience:
· Experience working in a commercial kitchen (with familiarity with Moduline, Magistar, and Zanussi kitchenware and cooking appliances preferred)
· Understanding of food purchasing and stock control – you’ll be managing a food budget
· Experience in menu planning and delivery
· Solid knowledge of nutrition; able to work within dietary requirements
· Supervisory skills – you’ll be mentoring and supporting clients to develop skills in the kitchen
· A caring, compassionate, and respectful attitude – including working within professional boundaries
· High hygiene standards with significant knowledge of food safety and handling
· Good emotional regulation skills, with an understanding of de-escalation practices
· Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people
· Understanding for the need to maintain confidentiality of clients – both at work and after hours
· Bringing, or willingness to obtain, HLTAID011 First Aid Training, Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or higher
You will need to have a current, valid Australian Drivers Licence and a National Police Check.
