We are also after a skilled Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our dynamic team at Friends of Fire, where quality, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do.

Sous Chef – Functions & Events Focus

We’re seeking a highly organized and experienced Sous Chef to lead our functions and events kitchen operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in high-volume environments, has a sharp eye for detail, and can deliver exceptional food experiences for weddings, corporate events, and private functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all culinary aspects of functions, from prep to execution

Collaborate with the Head Chef and Events Manager to plan menus tailored to client needs

Lead a dedicated functions team, ensuring smooth service and timely delivery

Maintain consistency and quality across plated, buffet, and canapé-style service

Manage ordering, prep schedules, and kitchen logistics for multiple events

Uphold food safety, allergen protocols, and dietary requirements with precision

What You Bring:

Proven experience in functions, banquets, or large-scale catering

Strong leadership and time management skills

Ability to adapt menus and service styles to diverse event formats

Calm under pressure, with a solutions-focused mindset

A passion for creating memorable guest experiences through food

Chef de Partie (CDP)

We’re also on the lookout for a reliable and skilled Chef de Partie to run a designated section of our kitchen with confidence and pride. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a supportive and professional team.

Manage your section during prep and service with precision

Prepare and present dishes to a high standard

Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
