Make safety meaningful. Lead with care. Create change.
At Lutheran Care, safety isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s one of the ways we show care for our people and communities.
We’re looking for a passionate Work Health & Safety Advisor to support safe, healthy workplaces across a diverse range of services and teams. You’ll work closely with leaders, staff and volunteers to make sure everyone can thrive in safe, supportive environments.
This role is based in Adelaide, and your focus will be on supporting our SA teams. You’ll also collaborate with our NT sites as needed, mostly remotely, with the occasional visit.
You’ll get to work across a wide range of services, from homelessness and allied health to foster care and financial wellbeing, helping to create safe environments for staff, volunteers, and the people we support.
This is your opportunity to apply your WHS expertise in a values-led organisation that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
What you’ll be doing:
- Champion a proactive and inclusive safety culture across multiple programs and locations.
- Support safe work practices through risk assessments, training, policy implementation, and compliance.
- Investigate incidents with compassion and a learning mindset.
- Build strong relationships with teams in SA and NT, offering trusted advice and practical solutions.
- Develop and deliver WHS training that’s engaging, relevant, and meaningful—not just ticking boxes.
- Stay across current WHS legislation and ensure best practice is embedded in daily operations.
About you:
You bring technical WHS know how, plus a deep understanding that safety is about people. You're collaborative, detail-oriented, and thrive when working with others to create environments where people feel safe, supported, and able to do their best work.
You’ll also have:
- Solid working knowledge of WHS legislation and standards
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, solution-focused approach to risk and incident management
- Experience working across diverse locations or in community services (desirable)
Why join Lutheran Care?
- You’re Amazing Day – a paid day off just for you!
- Paid parental leave
- Salary packaging to boost your take-home pay
- Flexible work options & supportive team culture
- Free, confidential counselling support
