About the role

We are seeking a Full time Group Support Scientist to join our dedicated team in the regional Victorian laboratories.

Your role will be to participate in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, working as part of a dedicated team. Duties include general Biochemistry, Haematology, stat Microbiology, and Transfusion work, maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements. The preferred applicants will be flexible, punctual, self-motivated, display initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.

The Group Support Scientist (GSS) will be deployed to cover staff leave at regional laboratories primarily in Victoria’s West Region. The GSS will be required to cover any shift including overnight shifts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science or an AIMS accredited equivalent as a minimum.

Relevant experience as a multi-skilled scientist.

High attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team.

Exceptional communication, time management & organisational skills.

The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services.

Have own transport and be able to take part in weekend and evening rosters including public holidays.
