Exciting Opportunity: Cancer Support Officer
We are looking for a dedicated, culturally responsive, and community-focused Cancer Support Officer to provide supports and guidance to clients navigating their cancer journey.
In this vital role, you will be a trusted point of contact for clients and their families, offering practical support, building strong referral pathways, and working closely with healthcare providers to ensure care is coordinated, person centred, and culturally safe.
Whether it is helping clients attend appointments, advocating for better access to services, or supporting cancer awareness in the community, your work will directly contribute to improved health outcomes and a more connected, compassionate system of care.
You will collaborate with both clinical and community teams, helping to bridge gaps, empower clients, and promote healing and hope through every stage of the cancer journey.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated individual with relevant experience or qualifications in public health, community services, or health promotion, who demonstrates a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their health challenges.
- Ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and health professionals
- Strong communication skills, with sensitivity and empathy
- Commitment to confidentiality and compassionate service
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Flexible and eager to learn, including patient information systems and cancer care training
- Hold a current “C” Class WA driver’s licence, National Police Clearance, and WA Working with Children Check

Salary & Benefits
We offer a highly competitive salary package that includes a base salary of $86,401 along with an accommodation allowance of $7,800. You'll also benefit from salary packaging options of up to $30,000, allowing you to maximise your earnings effectively.
