About the role:
We’re looking for a hands-on, calm, organised and resourceful leader to run day-to-day operations at our Echuca science museum. You’ll lead the floor, support and direct staff, welcome visitors, manage school bookings and front-of-house, and keep exhibits and spaces looking their best. During quieter periods you’ll often be the only person onsite, so this role suits someone independent and organised with great initiative.

What you’ll do:
• Lead, coach, and support the team of Science Communicators and junior staff
• Set the tone on the floor: warm welcomes, smooth sessions, safe and tidy spaces
• Oversee daily operations including front desk, phones, ticketing, bookings and cash-up
• Coordinate and present science workshops, holiday programs and special events
• Maintain venue presentation: light maintenance, cleaning standards, exhibit resets
• Delegate tasks, check progress, and give constructive feedback
• Implement projects, such as school holiday set up
• Network with local business and accommodation providers to market TwistED Science
• Keep our critters healthy and happy
• Keep health, safety and compliance front and centre

About you:
• Proven experience in people leadership (tourism, education, attractions or hospitality ideal)
• Science or Education background or training is a priority
• Confident working solo and willing to do all the jobs a regional science museum requires, including the not so glamorous (such as cleaning)
• Loves creating amazing visitor experiences
• Practical organiser who notices details and follows through on completing tasks
• Available Wednesday to Sunday, including school holidays
• Working with Children Check and First Aid (or willing to obtain)
