Electrical Designer Mineral Sands Projects
This Perth-based opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a major mineral sands program with a tier-one mining client. You'll join a collaborative, multidisciplinary design team delivering detailed electrical design and documentation across sustaining and fast-track projects.

Role Opportunity
We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join a well-established engineering services team based in Perth, supporting ongoing mineral sands projects for a leading resources client.

You'll play a key role in preparing detailed electrical design drawings for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design packages, working closely with the Design Manager and a project team of around 20 people

This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to substation layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams (SLDs) across a range of brownfields and sustaining capital works.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Designer within the mining/resources sector
• Strong background in electrical system component design (power and controls)
• Proficiency in MicroStation (essential)
• Experience producing schematics, substation layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLDs)
• Familiarity with control panel layout and design, and preparation of detailed electrical drawings
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and industry design practices
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and teamwork skills

Desirable Skills

• Prior exposure to mineral sands or similar processing projects
• Understanding of sustaining capital project environments
• Ability to interpret engineering data and assist with design verification
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings for both FEED and detailed design packages
• Support the Design Manager and engineering team in delivering electrical documentation for mineral sands projects
• Develop and review schematics, substation layouts, and control panel drawings
• Ensure design outputs meet client specifications and Australian Standards
• Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions
• Assist with the development and management of electrical design standards and templates
