SRT are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our Laverton North team. You will need flexibility to cover the demands of a 7 day busy operation. The position works Monday - Friday. Ideally you will have a minimum three years Supervisory experience in a Transport/Fast Moving Consumer Goods/Rail experience related industry and a high level of communication and literacy skills. Strong operational planning skills will also be highly regarded.

Desirable qualifications for this position are:

Certificate IV Transport & Distribution / Warehousing (or similar).

Fork lift operator’s license.

Monday to Friday 8am starts - day shift

Main Duties

Duties may include but not be limited to:

Ensure all freight is loaded onto the correct vehicles in accordance with direction and paperwork received from the Freight Co-ordinator and that the Run Sheet for each load is correctly completed and signed off.

Ensure all freight is handled in accordance with safety requirements and in such a way that the potential for damage is minimised.

Ensure all freight is stored appropriately having regard to temperature requirements.

Ensure all freight is stored having regard to access requirements and stock rotation.

Communicate with drivers on any issue outside the norm relating to freight loaded on to their vehicle.

Communicate through the chain of command to management on all relevant issues. This includes but is not limited to – freight which may have been overlooked, damaged freight, driver concerns, accident reports, incident reports, equipment failure etc.

Participate with senior management relating to tasks such as problem solving and planning.

Ensure that tasks specified for Warehouse Supervisors are completed and that the Check Sheet is completed and signed off.

Ensure Compliance Policies, Procedures OHS and Manual Handling protocols.
