About the Project

Land 4140 (previously L200-3) is delivering a secure and scalable training environment hosted on the Microsoft Azure (Protected) cloud platform, accessible via our Client’s Protected Network. This environment will host the Battle Management System (BMS), which supports a range of training scenarios critical to our Client’s operational readiness.

As part of the recent activities, Land 4140 has successfully delivered a Pilot system that was well received by stakeholders. Work is now underway to optimise and scale the environment into an enduring, production-ready capability.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer with a strong background in system administration across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced automation skills using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Bicep, Python, PowerShell, and Bash, and will be proficient in Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in secure, complex environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality, automated, and resilient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, automate, and optimise ICT systems.

Design, build, and implement DevSecOps pipelines and services.

Implement security controls in accordance with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and client-specific requirements.

Author and maintain build guides, configuration documentation, and procedural material.

Build and maintain cloud environments for our Client.

Build and maintain network infrastructure and services within cloud platforms.

Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to ensure stable and secure operations.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Strong system administration in Windows and Linux environments.

Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, Python, Azure DevOps).

Experience developing Standard Operating Environments (SOEs).

Knowledge of network infrastructure and services, including:

Identity and Access Management (IDAM)

Logging and monitoring

Backup and recovery

Host and network firewalls

Reverse and forward proxies

OS patching and hardening

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

Performance optimisation and network security

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services (or similar environments).

Understanding of DevSecOps, Agile, and cyber security practices.

Experience in testing, quality assurance, and technical documentation.
