About the role
As a Coordinator Property & Lease Management at Yarra Ranges Council, you will lead with professional excellence, guiding the Property and Lease Management Team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service across a diverse portfolio of buildings and spaces.
You will be responsible for delivering a property service aligned with our Council Plan and service-led strategies, with the vision that each asset is optimally utilised to support long-term community outcomes. This role is best suited to someone who can take a strategic approach to lease management, including planning for future lease expiries, reviewing underutilised or surplus assets, and supporting acquisition targets.
This role requires a strong grasp of Local Government Governance structures and relevant legislation, as you will act as the subject matter expert for property transactions, leading complex negotiations and driving successful outcomes. Your expertise will also contribute to strategic portfolio planning, aligning property contracts and investment strategies with community service needs through effective operational processes and resource management.
This role has 4 direct reports.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 7 role with a salary range between $110,534 and $123,686 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
Experience in leading a team responsible for the management and leasing of a diverse portfolio of land and buildings.
Proven ability to lead a responsive, customer-focused team, improve service outcomes, and manage time effectively across varied operations.
Experience engaging external advisors and stakeholders to align service delivery with Council standards, build strategic partnerships, and influence collaborative outcomes.
Ability to demonstrate strong contract management in the areas of Property and Leasing, including a focus on governance, best value and statutory compliance.
Strong understanding of lease management systems.
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
Experience managing property transactions using external resources to ensure due diligence, transparent dealings, and statutory compliance.
Encourage high performance from all team members by facilitation of feedback, use of new technology and enable time to continuously improve service delivery and value.
Technical and/or professional qualifications in property management would be highly regarded.
