Who we are
Cargo Operations West & Maritime branch delivers regulatory assessments and inspections of goods and international vessels, across the biosecurity continuum (offshore, at the border and onshore) to verify compliance with Australia's biosecurity and imported food requirements. The branch is also responsible for national delivery of technical training, coaching, forecasting and scheduling.
The Operations Forecasting and Scheduling team empower the division to manage biosecurity risk through effective workload management and deployment strategies. The team administer the divisions workforce management systems and conduct predictive analytics to enable the operational deployment of inspection, assessment and contact centre services. They work in a flexible national environment. Staff may have a national supervisor and utilise strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with their colleagues and leadership group.
The Job
Key responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:
• developing scheduling products to enable operational groups to manage biosecurity risk,
• supporting change management including implementing change processes and updating information in appropriate systems and documentation,
• building internal stakeholder relationships including providing subject matter expertise to respond to scheduling enquiries,
• working independently and as part of a national team including managing competing priorities and deliverables,
• gathering and analysing data to apply to Operations Forecasting and Scheduling products,
• preparing high-quality written material including emails, instructions and corporate documents,
• supporting projects and innovation, including data analysis, reviewing processes, problem-solving, system testing, and making recommendations.

What we are looking for
Knowledge and experience
The following knowledge and demonstrated experience is desirable:
• rostering or scheduling experience and/or knowledge,
• knowledge of relevant business systems including Microsoft Excel and Power BI,
• knowledge of the department’s role in delivering national biosecurity operations,
• improvement principles, analytical techniques and tools
