Trials Coordinator – Full Time or Part Time
ABOUT SEPWA
SEPWA is a farmer driven ‘for purpose’ organisation that was started in 1993 to support wheat growers in the Esperance Port Zone. SEPWA's role has since broadened to focus on improving the profitability and sustainability of Esperance Port Zone grain growers. The organisation has built a strong reputation as being at the forefront of locally relevant research, development and extension through a its trial and demonstration work in the paddock, hosting field days, workshops, seminars and peer learning discussions and in the boardrooms of those who drive and support the agricultural sector in the region.
We are chasing someone who is a self-starter to implement collaborative in-paddock research and development projects in the Esperance Port Zone and who wants to share the outcomes of this work with growers.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and supported by active grower members and collaborating researchers and agronomists, you will be involved in a diverse range of activities including:
Designing and coordinating SEPWA’s farmer scale variety trials, demonstration sites and plot scale trials.
Farmer scale and plot scale trial data collection including soil, weather and in-season and harvest crop parameters.
Evaluate data and communicate key research outcomes both in written reports and articles and in presentations at field days and workshops.
Assist in the development of applications for new research trials.
Assist in the design and implementation of field days and workshops.
Understand and prioritise local grower agronomic, environmental and business issues.
Maintain strong relationships with growers and industry stakeholders.
Salary: $95,000 - $140 000 To be negotiated depending on qualifications and experience. We are willing to invest in your training and professional development if you don’t have all of the skills listed below.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Degree in environmental or agriculture-related field or experience equivalent
Strong interpersonal skills
Current C Class Driver’s license
The ability to live and work in Australia
The ability to live in the region
VALUABLE CRITERIA
General knowledge of Australian broadacre farming systems, products and technologies
Knowledge of or experience in scientific methods and analytical techniques appropriate to agriculture
Knowledge and experience in research trial management and report writing
Training or experience in extension
Strong organisational skills and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with industry stakeholders, growers and researchers
