About the Role

We are looking for a Payroll & Accounts Officer (NDIS Experienced) to join our vibrant team at YAY Today. In this full-time role, you'll take ownership of payroll and accounts payable, assist with accounts receivable while ensuring smooth and compliant financial operations. You'll work closely with another finance team member, managing NDIS billing, manual claim requests, and payroll under the SCHADS Award.

This position suits a detail-oriented professional with Xero expertise, NDIS finance experience, and a proactive, team-driven mindset. You'll play a key role in supporting YAY Today's mission to empower people with disabilities to live their best lives — in a workplace that values purpose, collaboration, and good energy.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full payroll in line with SCHADS Award and Fair Work requirements

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing

Handle NDIS billing, invoice reconciliation, and manual claim requests via PRODA/MyPlace Portal

Maintain accurate records in Xero and reconcile accounts monthly

Support month-end reporting, financial data entry, and compliance documentation

Collaborate with the finance team to streamline systems and maintain strong internal controls

About You

You're reliable, detail-oriented, and confident working in a busy NDIS environment.
You bring both technical skill and teamwork, and you love contributing to a purpose-driven mission.

Candidates must have valid Australian work authorisation to be eligible for this position.

You'll need:

Proven experience in NDIS finance / payroll / billing (essential)

A minimum of 1-2 years experience in NDIS finance, payroll, or billing is required for this role.

Strong working knowledge of the SCHADS Award and employment compliance

Experience lodging manual NDIS claim requests and resolving funding discrepancies

Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel

A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or similar (preferred)

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

NDIS Worker Screening Check and WWCC (Working With Children Check)
