Salesforce Platform Manager
Position Overview
The Salesforce Platform Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the strategic development, implementation, and optimisation of the Organisations’ Salesforce ecosystem. This role combines leadership, technical oversight, stakeholder engagement, and governance to ensure the platform delivers high-impact digital solutions aligned with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Champion a mission-driven, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture in collaboration with the COO and CEO.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary technology team, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
- Navigate and support internal and external stakeholders through periods of technological and organisational change.
Salesforce & Technology Management
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the organisations Salesforce platform, including Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Public Sector Solutions, and Account Engagement.
- Manage integrations with platforms such as Mulesoft, Microsoft Azure, Alteryx, and Tableau.
- Lead the delivery of digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
- Develop and manage the ICT strategy, roadmap, and budget to support long-term organisational goals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and frameworks including privacy laws, the Protective Security Policy Framework, and the Information Security Manual.
- Monitor emerging technologies and assess their potential to improve productivity and service delivery.
Governance, Risk & Procurement
- Manage ICT contracts and procurement processes to ensure quality, value for money, and cost efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate risks across technology operations, ensuring robust security and compliance practices.
- Forecast and manage IT expenditure across multi-year planning cycles.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted adviser to internal teams, ensuring technology solutions meet business needs.
- Collaborate with partner organisations and government bodies to align with digital transformation priorities, including responsible AI use and the Data and Digital Government Strategy.
- Represent the Organisation in cross-government committees and professional networks.
Capabilities & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience managing technology services within a government or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of risk, security, and compliance obligations.
- Demonstrated success in agile delivery and digital project management.
- Expertise in procurement and contract management.
- Financial acumen in managing and forecasting IT budgets.
- Effective team leadership and executive collaboration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Eligibility for Baseline Security Clearance (must be an Australian Citizen).
- Alignment with the APS Integrated Leadership System (ILS) and Work Level Standards (WLS) for EL2 classification.
Desirable
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce platforms and integrations.
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau and Alteryx.
- Commitment to APS Values, Code of Conduct, and ethical leadership.
