Our client, a respected national consultancy in the agribusiness and commodities sector, is entering its next phase of growth. With a strong Western Australian base and growing East Coast momentum, they’re now seeking a commercially sharp, people-focused General Manager to lead national sales performance and operational delivery.
This role demands equal parts drive and discipline. You’ll bring structure, accountability, and a performance culture that’s both challenging and fair. The focus is clear — convert pipeline to revenue, grow membership nationally, and build a team that performs with clarity and intent.
As General Manager, you’ll work in close partnership with the Managing Director — complementing his entrepreneurial pace with calm execution, process, and team development. You’ll be hands-on with client engagement and national business growth, but also set the frameworks that keep people focused, reviewed, and rewarded.
Key accountabilities include:
• National Sales Growth – lead pipeline conversion, expand East Coast presence, and drive membership growth through disciplined sales execution.
• Accountability & Performance – set expectations, follow through with consequence, and foster a culture of clarity, ownership, and delivery.
• Structured Leadership – implement annual reviews, career pathways, and salary frameworks to build transparency and retention.
• Balanced Partnership – work alongside a dynamic founder, providing steady operational leadership while driving commercial outcomes.
• Team Development – coach, challenge, and support a high-performing team including emerging leaders pivotal to the company’s future.
While a background in agribusiness or commodities would be valued, success in this role ultimately depends on commercial sharpness, sales discipline, and proven leadership in a growth-focused environment.
This is not a role for the passive or the political. It suits a commercially aggressive, grounded leader who understands small-company pace and can bring order without bureaucracy. You’ll likely have led a P&L, built or scaled a sales-led business, and know what it takes to grow market share across states.
