Kingston City Council is seeking a Marketing and Communications Advisor to help tell the Active Kingston story - including our brand-new Mordi Aquatic Centre - our biggest ever investment in health and wellbeing for the community. You’ll also promote the much-loved Waves Leisure Centre along with our busy sport and active recreation activities.
This is your chance to drive creative campaigns, develop engaging content, and connect our community with services that make Kingston an even better place to live, work, and play.
Following team growth and an exciting restructure, we’re advertising several new communications positions across the department – including this one.
What you’ll be doing:
Plan and deliver marketing campaigns to boost memberships and visits to our Leisure Centres.
Develop communications strategies for Council programs and events, creating compelling digital content, social media posts, videos, photography, infographics, and more.
Build excitement and momentum for the new Mordi Aquatic Centre.
Advise senior management, CEO, Councillors, and the Mayor on communications and marketing opportunities.
Build strong partnerships across Council and with the community to maximise engagement and impact.
Manage digital content, monitor performance, and use insights to shape campaigns.
About you:
You’re a creative storyteller, organised multi-tasker, and proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring:
Experience in communications, marketing, PR, or community engagement.
Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills across multiple channels.
Digital marketing savvy, including social media, websites, and content analytics.
Excellent relationship-building, organisational, and time-management skills.
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (or signficant experience).
