About the Role

IDEA Innovative Disability Engagement Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Disability Support Worker with Auslan skills to join our team in Brookvale, NSW.
This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to support our clients with their daily living and community access needs.

What You'll Be Doing

Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events

Engaging clients in meaningful recreational and social activities

Documenting client progress and communicating with the broader care team

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Please note: One of the clients you'll be supporting is approximately 15 years old and very active, so you'll need to be energetic and proactive.
He is quite independent with his personal care and daily routines but benefits from guidance, supervision, and active engagement—especially during outings and community activities.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in disability support or aged care, or a relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Individual Support)

Experience as a Behaviour Support Worker or with clients requiring behavioural support is highly preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

Proficiency in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is highly desirable

Basic conversational Auslan proficiency is expected for effective client communication

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities

A current driver's licence and access to reliable transportation

A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)

NDIS Worker Screening Check is required for this position
