Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate workflows on our liquid handling instrument.

Implement and optimise automated workflows for a variety of molecular biology applications.

Support product development through project planning, experimental design, data analysis, protocol refinement, and troubleshooting.

Plan and prioritise work efficiently, perform experiments accurately with minimal supervision, and solve scientific and technical problems independently.

Conduct core molecular biology techniques including PCR and DNA/RNA extraction; experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) is desirable but not essential.

Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including consumables ordering, stock control, equipment calibration, and general maintenance.

Key Requirements

Degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in PCR and DNA/RNA extraction.

Experience with NGS workflows is desirable but not required.

Basic programming skills in Python, with the ability to write, adapt, and troubleshoot scripts (experience with laboratory automation platforms is advantageous).

Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.

You must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia (Australian citizenship or permanent residency).
