About the role

Oden, a new branch of Ishizuka restaurant in the heart of Melbourne, is seeking a talented Assistant Front of House to join our team. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to further develop their skills in an exceptional dining environment. Based in our Melbourne CBD location, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional service to our discerning clientele.

What you'll be doing

Providing knowledgeable guidance on our extensive wine list, making recommendations to diners and ensuring an exceptional customer experience

Assisting the Manager and curation of our wine cellar

Maintaining an expert understanding of our wine offerings, food pairings and cocktail menu

Leading and training the front-of-house team to deliver world-class service

Ensuring all service and presentation standards are upheld to the highest level

Contributing to the overall smooth running of the restaurant during service

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sommelier or Supervisor in a high-end fine dining establishment

Proven expertise in wine and beverage knowledge, with the ability to make informed recommendations

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deliver a personalised, memorable dining experience

Strong leadership and mentoring skills to develop and motivate the front-of-house team

A passion for hospitality and a commitment to upholding the highest standards

Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities
