Assistant Maintenance Manager – Lanson Place Parliament Gardens, Melbourne
56k (pro rated salary) 4 days per week, up to 70k full time
We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team at Lanson Place Parliament Gardens. This permanent part-time role supports the Engineering & Maintenance Manager in ensuring our luxury property remains safe, fully functional, and impeccably presented for our guests and staff.

What You’ll Be Doing
Assist the Engineering & Maintenance Manager in supervising contractors and obtaining service quotes.
Assist with scheduling and tracking preventative maintenance tasks.
Maintain asset registers and update maintenance logs.
Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely service delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering parts and materials.
Manage purchase orders and reconcile invoices for timely, accurate payment processing.
Perform general maintenance and repairs, including:
Minor plumbing (e.g. securing pipes, unblocking toilets, fixing seats)
Basic electrical (e.g. light bulb replacement, troubleshooting)
Carpentry (e.g. repairing shelves, installing brackets, tool maintenance)
Painting and patching (touch-ups to full repaints)
Furniture assembly and fixture installation (e.g. safes, shelves, TVs)
Inspect the property regularly to identify maintenance needs and uphold presentation standards.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal standards.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented environment for guests and staff.
What We’re Looking For
Availability to work four days per week (flexible schedule but Saturdays required).
Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.
Good communication, time management, and organisational skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work independently.
Skilled in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
Comfortable using maintenance software and Excel.
Skilled with computers; knowledge of the Norming ESS system is an advantage.
Familiarity with HVAC, fire systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus.
Proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues.
