About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at the Waterfall Gully Cafe and Nursery in Rosebud, VIC. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of our vibrant cafe and nursery business. This is a casual role that will involve working alongside the General Manager to ensure exceptional customer service and the efficient day-to-day management of the cafe and nursery.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the General Manager in overseeing the cafe and nursery operations

Supervising and supporting the café staff to deliver outstanding customer experiences

Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and managing inventory

Handling cash management and daily banking procedures

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations

Investigating and resolving customer inquiries and complaints

Participating in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives

Providing leadership and mentoring to the cafe and nursery team

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager role within the hospitality industry

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team

Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in cash handling, inventory management, and basic financial reporting

A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to creating exceptional customer experiences

Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and Friday nights.
