About the role

As a Structural Steel Installation Team Leader at DH Steel, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled tradespeople in the installation of high-quality structural steel components. Based in Melton, this role is hands-on and will see you travel to areas all over Melbourne metro and surrounding areas. You will play a crucial role in the delivery of residential and small commercial construction projects, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all steel installation work. The successful candidate will have the ability to motivate and drive teams onsite.

What you'll be doing

Coordinate and supervise a team of structural steel installation workers

Plan and manage steel installation activities onsite to meet project timeframes set by Project Managers

Ensure work is carried out to a high standard upholding DH Steel approach to quality

Liaise with project managers, office teams and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide updates

This is a hands-on role, and you will be an active member of the installation team

Monitor and report on team performance, identifying areas for improvement

Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a structural steel installer or foreman in residential construction

Proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team

Strong technical knowledge of steel fabrication and installation methods

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering and Installation drawings

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Qualified Boilermaker and Intermediate Rigger highly desirable but not essential

Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and procedures
