The Job
With the Directors (Managing Director and Head of Construction) planning to spend 18 months in the United States from late 2025 to expand operations, a new role has opened for a collaborative-minded Building Inspector to oversee the successful progress and technical integrity of Ninedots’ client portfolio, based from the Geelong headquarters. Focused on new home builds, you’ll conduct inspections across all key build stages, verifying compliance, flagging defects, and acting as the on-site technical contact. You’ll explain findings in plain language, provide clarity and reassurance, and ensure any remediation is completed to a high standard. You’ll also liaise constructively with builders, site supervisors and trades, fostering cooperative relationships that keep projects moving. You’ll provide additional project management site checks, fortnightly updates, and manage communication with builders on clients’ behalf. Partnering with the leadership team, you’ll contribute to refining processes and audit checklists, helping maintain Ninedots’ reputation for excellence.

Skills Required
- Strong background in residential new home construction/ build inspections
- Technical capability in interpreting plans, standards, codes, and contracts
- Excellent attention to detail, report writing, and issue escalation judgment
- Client-facing confidence and ability to communicate complex issues simply
- Familiarity with inspection tools, photography, measurement devices
- Relevant qualification in Building, Construction, Building Surveying, or related discipline (Diploma or above preferred)
- Experience with Spectora, Hello Inspections or Zoho advantageous
- VBA registration is a plus
