About the role:
As the Assistant Farm Manager at Red Crest Farms Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our top performing farming business located in Monarto SA. This full-time position offers a great opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in Farm Management, in the Poultry industry. Red Crest Farms is a family owned and run farm, and is a leader in commercial poultry production across our 13-shed farm.

What you'll be doing:

Assisting the Farm Manager in overseeing all farming operations, including poultry management, general grounds keeping, and equipment/infrastructure maintenance

Collaborating with our small team to ensure high standards are met regarding animal welfare, biosecurity and overall farm performance

Monitoring and reporting on key metrics to ensure the farm's productivity and profitability

Actively participating in the implementation of workplace health and safety procedures

Keeping active! This role requires a good level of fitness as you will be constantly on the move during your work day

Living in Monarto in a 4-bedroom farm house, on a quiet road. You will also share an on-call roster with the Farm Manager, which includes being on-site alternating weekends

What we're looking for:

Someone with a keen interest and demonstrated experience in agriculture, who is motivated to learn. We are willing to provide training for the right applicant, including all areas of Poultry Production if you are new to this area of farming

A self starter who actively uses initiative in their day to day tasks

Great observation skills and ability to collect and interpret data

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the small farm team

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, preferably with experience in a leadership and/or management role

Highly motivated to learn new things, able to remain flexible in a varied role with demanding hours at times

Someone who is trustworthy, hardworking, positive and reliable
