Assistant Manager – The Greenock (Barossa Valley)

The Greenock is a community-focused hotel in the heart of the Barossa Valley, offering quality food, a welcoming bar, gaming facilities, and a relaxed country pub atmosphere. We are seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead our team and support the day-to-day running of the venue.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you will play a hands-on role in the daily operations of the hotel. You’ll work closely with the Venue Manager and owners to deliver an excellent customer experience, lead and support staff, and ensure smooth running across all areas of the pub including the bar, bistro, gaming, and events.

This role is ideal for someone with proven hospitality leadership experience who thrives in a busy environment and wants to be part of a growing venue.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across bar, bistro, and gaming

Lead, train, and motivate a small team to deliver great service

Manage stock control, and compliance requirements

Ensure RSA, RSG, WHS and other legislative standards are met

Support financial performance by monitoring sales, costs, and profitability

Step up in the absence of the Venue Manager to run shifts and take ownership of outcomes

Contribute to marketing and community engagement initiatives

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Experienced in pub, bar or hospitality management (minimum 2 years)

Skilled at leading and motivating a team

Strong in communication, organisation, and problem-solving

Confident with stock management, cash handling, and compliance

Enthusiastic about creating a welcoming, customer-first environment

Flexible to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
