The Role

• Your job will be to manage Work Health and Safety (WHS) functions on behalf of the Commanding Officer of Royal Australian Air Force School of Technical Training and in close coordination with the commercial training partner.
• You will be responsible for ensuring conformance with relevant WHS requirements.
• You will be accountable, under broad direction, to undertake complex WHS activities in support of the safety management system, such as leading improvement projects; and managing and providing support to safety staff in the investigation of incidents and near misses.
• You will work with a network of WHS advisers across various locations.
• You will proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders, identifying WHS expectations and concerns to achieve business outcomes.

About our Team

The School works closely with our commercial training and industry partners to train develop and graduate professional military aviation maintainers and engineers for the Navy, Army and Air Force.

Together we ensure that these personnel are ready to meet ADF capability requirements to enable ADF to force generate, project & sustain military power effects in support of Australia’s national interest.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will use your initiative and experience to analyse complex and dynamic WHS tasks, and to provide succinct and timely advice to management. You will manage competing priorities to best meet organisational outcomes.

You will be able to implement WHS requirements in an innovative manner to best support the training outcomes of the school and the safety of staff and trainees. You will use your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to work effectively with senior management and our commercial training partner.
