With multiple processing and value-add facilities across Australia, they manage the complete supply chain for both domestic and export markets. This regional site employs around 150 staff and plays a key role in delivering high-quality products to a global customer base.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of HSEQ, the Health & Safety Advisor will be accountable for driving a positive safety culture at their regional processing facility. This will see you partnering with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to embed sustainable safety practices, and working closely with the site employees on the ground to focus on reducing risk exposure and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key elements of the role but not limited too are:
- Conducting floor walks and site safety inspections across high-risk areas
- Conduct risk assessments and audits
- Leading toolbox talks and engaging with staff to influence safe behaviours
- Monitor and enforce compliance with WHS legislation and company policies
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Maintain reporting, safety documentation and safety management systems (Donesafe)
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or other heavy industry environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the workforce
- Practical knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and high-risk machinery safety
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to engage on the factory floor daily
- Experience delivering or supporting safety training programs (safe work instructions, competency sign-offs) is highly desirable but not essential
