Key Responsibilities:
Provide high quality WHS management advice to the Manager Governance, Risk & Safety, General Manager Corporate Services, CEO, other members of the executive and committees, ensuring policy, procedures, and systems are in place to meet compliance with WHS legislation, regulations and Code of practices.
Ensuring a systematic process, policy and procedure is developed to manage psychosocial hazards and risks, that may impact the performance and productivity of the broader organisation from work-related psychological and physical injuries.
Implement Workplace Wellbeing programs and strategies in consultation with People & Culture to promote participation and overall wellbeing of all staff ensuring ERC meets the requirements of the Code of Practice for Managing Psychosocial hazards at work
Provide advice and recommendations to management / executive / committees for minimising risks and resolving priority issues. Prepare and present evidence to inform regulatory and other compliance actions.
Collect, monitor and evaluate WHS data as required and work with operational areas to foster safety and risk management improvements.
Undertake the development, maintenance and communications to staff of ERC’s SWMSs, and other WHS procedural documents
Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders including other state government agencies, other jurisdictions and industry and community to facilitate evidence-based policy analysis and improvements for best practice.
Provide support, coaching, advice, instruction and training in relation to implementing workplace health and safety responsibilities, mental health / psychosocial well being
Work collaboratively and build sustainable positive relationships with colleagues and peers across the various work units at ERC to deliver objectives. This includes providing leadership in WHS for risk assessments, site inspections and regulatory compliance with supervisors and managers.
What You Will Bring:
Tertiary qualification in WHS, Risk Management or relevant discipline and / or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role
Minimum 3 years’ experience with WHS management systems with a focus on developing and implementing continuous improvement and contributing to a workplace culture that values health and well being
Extensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice
Experience in developing and implementing WHS and Wellbeing policies and procedures
Ability to communicate and influence organisational safety culture within teams and the wider organisation
Ability to analyse operational systems and processes to support continuous improvement and drive change
Working with Children and National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
Current Drivers’ Licence.
